During the last year of my bachelors education I got the opportunity to study at ESAD Reims, a graphic design and art school just outside of Paris. One thing I love is typography, so when I found a course with complete focus on the anatomy of type and typography in general, I was quick to apply. In the west of Sweden there is a place where artists can go to work with materials and tools that are hard to come by. My father was going there to work on a marble sculpture, and I tagged along to learn the techniques and create some pieces of my own. During the days we lived and breathed stone and I forgot about the boring creative world that sometimes exists in front of a screen.

Other

  1. Sonen

June 2010— · Live Visual Performer

After realizing that being a DJ doesn't really cut it for me I discovered the world of live visuals after an inspiring workshop. In June 2010 I did my first gig at the Balkan Beat Party, which is an amazing club that takes place in the summers of Gothenburg. Since that first gig I've performed at conventions, concerts, clubs and festivals. Since June 2011 I go under the name of Sonen and I have small dreams of becoming the worlds best VJ.

I suddenly felt a desire to create my own playground for my video game culture related articles and got the idea of creating a fanzine. I gathered a crew of writers with ambition and applied for funding, structured the content, proof-read revisions, designed and sent out the final fanzines to various blogs and interested individuals.

  3. GAMEcore

  4. Pixel
    glhf.se/pixel

    Oct. 2009 — July 2010 · Producer & Host

At the student radio station in Gothenburg I had my own radio show for about a year. When Pixel was played, there was only music from video games, or that had some relation to video game culture that came out of the speakers. My goal was to broaden the concept of video game music and presented many different genres within this category. The show began at fifteen minutes, then quickly was extended to thirty minutes, then to an hour, and in the end I held a few two hour episodes.

I also worked as a journalist and interviewed artists such as Teddybears, Familjen and personal idol GOTO80.

On the days I studied design and on the nights I mixed drinks and music. Trappan is a place for students where anyone can work with whatever field they like, and get education within that area. I worked for six months as a bartender, and then turned my attention towards making people dance. Mixing music is one of my favorite things I know.
